About Tom

Tom Harle is a Canadian artist from the National Capital Region. Using a vivid palette, the paintings in this season of his life do not come from angst but from a deep-rooted sense of freedom and relaxation. While rejecting miniature dimensions and minimalist abstraction Tom is most comfortable personalizing his paintings using substantial human scale canvases. He puts an idiosyncratic, intuitive spin on his work in all sorts of ways by adding images, using quirky geometry, iridescent mediums, and overlying patterns. His efforts are a kink between abstract expressionism and abstract realism which create unexpected, and unpredictable results.
